Baku Sleep
Terms of Use
Last updated 7 September 2026 · Applies to Baku Sleep for Android (com.bakusleep.app)
Baku Sleep is not a medical device. It records sound and tells you what it heard. It does not detect, diagnose, monitor, treat or prevent any condition, and nothing it shows you should be used in place of advice from a doctor.
Accepting these terms
Installing or using Baku Sleep means you accept what is written here. If you do not, uninstall the app. These terms are between you and the Speji team, reachable at support@speji.com.
What you are allowed to do
You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you control, for as long as you follow these terms. You may not resell it, rent it out, or present it as your own. You may not decompile or reverse-engineer it except where the law of your country gives you that right regardless of what a licence says.
What the app is, and what it is not
Baku Sleep measures how loud your bedroom is over a night and keeps recordings of the louder moments so you can listen to them. That is the whole of it.
It is not a sleep tracker, a sleep-stage detector, or a screening tool. It does not measure breathing, oxygen, heart rate or apnoea, and no figure it displays is a clinical measurement. If you are worried about your sleep or your breathing, see a doctor. Do not delay doing so because of anything this app showed you.
Recording other people
You are responsible for how you use a microphone. Anyone who sleeps in earshot may be recorded, and the law about recording other people varies considerably between countries — in some, recording someone without telling them is a criminal offence. Tell the people around you. Do not use the app to record anyone covertly, and do not use it in a place where those present have not agreed to it.
Your recordings are yours
Everything the app records belongs to you and stays on your phone. We claim no rights over it, we receive no copy of it, and we cannot access it. This also means we cannot recover it: if you delete a night, uninstall the app, or lose or reset the phone, the recordings are gone permanently and there is no backup for us to restore from. See the Privacy Policy.
No warranty
The app is provided as it is, with no promise that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or right about anything in particular. It depends on your phone's microphone, on how Android schedules background work, and on the manufacturer's own battery software — any of which can end a night's recording without warning. Do not rely on it for anything that matters to your health, your safety, or your legal position.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app, including lost recordings, a night that failed to record, or a decision taken on the strength of what the app displayed. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here affects the statutory rights you have as a consumer.
Changes and availability
The app may change between versions, and features may be added or removed. These terms may be updated; the date at the top changes when they are, and continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new version. The app may stop being distributed at any time — a copy already installed keeps working, since it needs no server.
Your local law
If you use the app as a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in your own local courts. Nothing in these terms takes that away.
